Stacey Joiner is a Certified Integral Yoga Instructor, and a NY & FL State Licensed Massage Therapist, with over 10 years of experience. A true New Yorker at heart, Stacey is a former Account Executive in the Manhattan garment industry, who left the fast-paced corporate world to start a new career as a Massage Therapist. She later completed her certification as an Integral Yoga Instructor in Mexico, where she met her husband, Edwin, who also shares her love of Yoga.
After selling her successful massage practice, The Royal Treatment, in Manhattan, Stacey moved to South Florida and formed a new practice in Boca Raton, FL, using the same name. Since arriving in the Sunshine State, Stacey has increased her network and branched out into some amazing areas. The warm weather has been very inspirational for her.
Stacey draws from her experiences in corporate America, making her an excellent role-model for professional women. Combining her corporate background with her holistic lifestyle, she defies the typical stereotype of the"granola crunchy" Yogi, allowing her to appeal to a broader audience.
Stacey instructs a special Yoga workshop she developed just for women entitled, You Deserve The Royal Treatment, based on the teachings in her book. In addition to Yoga, she teaches marketing strategies to massage therapy students about to embark on their own practice.
Edwin discovered Yoga 16 years ago during a transitional time in his life. His study and practice of yoga began with Judy Spears of Athens, Ga. The practice, coupled with the study of Yoga, helped him to find an inner joy & peace never known to him before. His path then led him to Yogaville in Virginia. There, while on a ten-day silent retreat, completely submerged in Yoga and its teaching, he met Swami Satchidananda. This experience created within him the desire to teach and share the gift of yoga. The next stop was Mexico where he immersed himself in teachers training under the guidance of Swami Ramananda. Edwin had found his calling.
In his practice and in his teaching, he approaches Yoga as an exploration of life's possibilities, using yoga as a tool to develop awareness on and off the mat. His classes blend humor (sometimes really bad humor!), mind focus and heart awareness with asana, pranayama and deep relaxation to create a flowing meditation while uncovering the inherent strengths and potentials of the body.
The husband and wife team of Edwin and Stacey Joiner introduce Yoga as both a physical and spiritual practice, allowing each student to experience and create their unique practice. Their approach is gentle, affording each student the opportunity to find their own comfort in each pose. They believe in guiding their students but at the same time ask them to listen to their own bodies and find what works best for them.
Keeping with the Yogic tradition of Karmic Yoga, they volunteer their time to teach Yoga and raise funds for The Community Child Care Center in Delray Beach, FL, and continually donate their services to raise funds for Kids in Distress.
